I consider myself very privileged to spend my time designing and making furniture which is both functional and visually appealing.
As a school boy I was only good at art, technical drawing, woodwork and metalwork. In spite of that, I was able to study further and completed a degree in Art & Design with specialization in furniture.I then spent 30 years working in the commercial world of design as a furniture designer in the UK.
The past 8 years in South Africa have been have been my most stimulating and creative period. I have rediscovered the freedom of creative thought, allowing me to use my wealth of experience and knowledge to bend and manipulate traditional furniture materials, into the organic shapes inspired by this country’s natural beauty.
My iconic Orchid, Mashmallow, Cocktail and Piazza collections, whilst being mere seating, have a sculptural beauty making them desirable statement pieces.
